What It Assesses
Our 3D Posture & Musculoskeletal Assessment uses advanced imaging technology to help us objectively examine how your body is positioned and aligned. This is your sub-headline
The assessment provides information that can help us identify patterns involving areas such as:
- head and neck position
- shoulder alignment
- spinal and trunk
- posture
- pelvic alignment
- hip and lower-body alignment
- weight-bearing and postural symmetry
- whole-body postural patterns
These findings provide another piece of information that can be considered alongside your health history, symptoms, movement and functional goals.
How It Is Used Here
The assessment helps us move beyond simply asking “Where does it hurt?”
Posture and musculoskeletal findings may help us understand how different areas of the body relate to one another and identify patterns that may be relevant to movement, balance and function.
At A Step Above Wellness Centre, findings are interpreted alongside other appropriate information rather than treated as a diagnosis on their own.
Depending on your needs, this may include: Clinical history • Functional Movement Assessment • 3D Body Composition Assessment • strength and mobility findings • pelvic health concerns • individual goals
Together, this information helps us better understand your starting point and determine appropriate next steps.
Who It May Be Appropriate For
A 3D Posture & Musculoskeletal Assessment may be useful for adults working on concerns or goals related to:
- posture and alignment
- neck, shoulder or back discomfort
- balance and mobility
- pelvic and core function
- recurring movement concerns
- functional strength
- healthy aging
- return to activity
- performance and injury-prevention goals
- foot health, gait and lower-body function
It may also be useful for establishing an objective baseline before beginning an individualized care or movement program.
The assessment does not independently determine the cause of pain or diagnose a musculoskeletal condition.
What to Expect
The assessment is non-invasive and does not use radiation.
You will be guided through standardized standing positions while the system captures information about your posture and musculoskeletal alignment.
Depending on the reason for your assessment, additional functional movement observations may also be completed separately.
Your findings are then reviewed in context with your history, symptoms, goals and other relevant assessment information.
FROM POSTURE TO MOVEMENT
A Static Picture Is Only Part of the Story
How your body looks while standing and how it functions during movement are not always the same.
That is why your assessment may also include functional movement observation when appropriate.
Looking at both posture and movement can help us understand:
Where your body starts → How it moves → Where compensation may occur → What should be addressed first
This information can then help guide education, movement recommendations, strengthening and appropriate referral or collaboration.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR RESULTS
We Look at Patterns — Not Just Scores
Your assessment may identify areas of asymmetry, alignment differences or postural patterns.
These findings are not automatically problems and do not necessarily explain a symptom on their own.
Our role is to help you understand which findings may be relevant to your concerns and goals and which may simply represent normal individual variation.
That distinction is important because we do not want patients seeing a red or blue measurement on a report and assuming something is “wrong” with their body.
WHY YOUR FEET MATTER
Your feet form your contact with the ground and contribute to standing, balance and movement. When appropriate, your 3D Posture & Musculoskeletal Assessment can help us look beyond the feet and consider how foot position, lower-limb alignment, posture, balance and whole-body movement may relate.
For individuals receiving Medical Foot Care, this assessment may be recommended when broader posture, balance or mobility concerns are identified.
It is not required for every Medical Foot Care patient.
PELVIC HEALTH & CORE FUNCTION
Your pelvis and core are part of a larger movement system.
Posture, breathing, trunk position, hips and lower-body alignment may all be relevant when we are trying to understand how someone moves and functions.
For appropriate clients, 3D posture findings may therefore contribute to the broader Core-to-Floor™ assessment process.
The scan does not assess pelvic floor muscle function directly and does not diagnose pelvic floor dysfunction.
TRACKING CHANGE OVER TIME
Reassessment Helps Us Compare
When appropriate, the assessment may be repeated to compare objective findings over time.
Reassessment can help us determine whether changes in posture, movement or function are occurring alongside your individualized care or movement plan.
Progress is interpreted using the whole clinical and functional picture, not a single score.
YOUR ASSESSMENTS WORK TOGETHER
3D Posture & Musculoskeletal Assessment Helps us understand posture, alignment and musculoskeletal patterns.
Functional Movement Assessment Helps us observe how your body coordinates movement.
3D Body Composition Assessment Provides information about body measurements, composition and changes over time.
Clinical & Functional Assessment Brings your health history, symptoms, goals and assessment findings together. The goal is not to collect more tests. The goal is to understand what the results mean together and use that information to help determine appropriate next steps.

Suggested meta description Understand posture, alignment and movement with a non-invasive 3D Posture & Musculoskeletal Assessment in Windsor. Findings are reviewed alongside your symptoms, goals and functional assessment.
CLAIMS I WOULD NOT PUT ON THIS PAGE I would specifically avoid saying the assessment: diagnoses the cause of pain; identifies “overactive and underactive muscles” by itself; diagnoses pelvic floor dysfunction; predicts injury; proves that one postural difference caused another; identifies spinal pathology; replaces physiotherapy assessment; diagnoses gait disorders; proves that someone's posture needs “correction”; or guarantees that changing posture will eliminate symptoms. Those are precisely the kinds of claims that could turn a very useful assessment tool into an overpromised diagnostic technology.
VISUALS I WOULD ASK JANE TO USE Rather than filling this page with stock photographs, I would make it one of the most data-driven pages on the site: Hero: person completing the actual ASAW assessment.
Section 1: de-identified skeletal/posture report.
Section 2: actual report showing measurable postural information.
Section 3: active adult/healthy-aging functional image.
Section 4: actual assessment being performed. Posture → Movement section: standing assessment beside a functional movement image.
Feet section: foot/lower-limb skeletal view.
Core-to-Floor section: whole-body skeletal/postural image. Tracking Change: de-identified Baseline → Reassessment comparison. That will visually communicate something important: A Step Above isn't guessing. We assess, explain, plan and reassess.
