EMSELLA Pelvic Floor Neuromuscular Treatment
What It Supports
Emsella is a non-invasive pelvic floor treatment that uses electromagnetic stimulation to produce repeated pelvic floor muscle contractions.
Treatment may be considered for individuals experiencing concerns such as urinary leakage, urgency, reduced pelvic floor strength or coordination, and changes associated with childbirth, aging or menopause.
Emsella may also be incorporated into our broader Core-to-Floor™ approach when assessment identifies additional factors affecting pelvic function.
How It Is Used Here
At A Step Above Wellness Centre, Emsella is provided as a pelvic floor treatment following appropriate intake, screening and individualized care planning.
Treatment is performed while you remain fully clothed and seated comfortably in the Emsella chair.
For some individuals, Emsella may be the primary treatment being provided.
For others, assessment may identify opportunities for additional education, guided movement, physiotherapy collaboration or other components of the broader Core-to-Floor™ approach.
Additional services are recommended only when appropriate to the individual's needs and goals.
Who It May Be Appropriate For
Emsella may be considered for women and men experiencing concerns related to pelvic floor function, including:
- urinary leakage or bladder-control concerns;
- urinary urgency;
- reduced pelvic floor strength or coordination;
- changes following pregnancy and childbirth;
- changes associated with menopause or healthy aging;
- or individuals who have difficulty effectively engaging their pelvic floor muscles.
Appropriateness is determined through screening and assessment, including review of relevant health history and contraindications.

What to Expect
What to Expect Emsella treatment is non-invasive and performed while fully clothed.
You sit comfortably in the treatment chair while electromagnetic stimulation produces repeated pelvic floor muscle contractions. The intensity is adjusted according to individual tolerance and treatment goals.
Your treatment schedule is individualized. Progress and response to treatment can be reviewed throughout your care, and additional recommendations may be discussed when clinically appropriate.

Core-to-Floor™ is A Step Above Wellness Centre's broader approach to understanding pelvic health in relation to breathing, core function, movement, strength, lifestyle and the individual's overall goals.
You do not need to participate in every component of Core-to-Floor™ to receive Emsella treatment. Recommendations are individualized according to assessment findings, needs and goals.
