3D BODY COMPOSITION ASSESSMENT

Body Composition • Measurements • Progress Tracking

What It Measures Our 3D Body Composition Assessment uses Styku 3D optical imaging to create a detailed three-dimensional model of your body.

The assessment can provide objective information about body measurements, body shape and body composition, helping establish a baseline and track meaningful changes over time.

Depending on the measurements appropriate for your assessment, results may include:

  • Body circumferences
  • Body fat percentage
  • Fat mass
  • Lean mass
  • Body measurements and proportions
  • Changes between scans

Styku uses infrared imaging rather than electrical current or radiation.

How It Is Used Here

Your 3D Body Composition Assessment helps us look beyond body weight alone.

Results may be considered alongside your clinical history, functional assessment, posture and movement findings, goals and other relevant information to help your care team better understand your starting point.

Repeat scans can also provide an objective way to monitor changes in measurements and body composition throughout an individualized care plan.

Who It May Be Appropriate For

A 3D Body Composition Assessment may be useful for adults working toward:

  • Healthy aging and maintaining strength Building or preserving lean mass
  • Functional strength and mobility Body-composition goals
  • Exercise or performance goals
  • Establishing an objective health and movement baseline
  • Tracking changes throughout an individualized care plan

The assessment provides information to support care planning and progress monitoring; results are interpreted in context rather than used alone to diagnose a medical condition.

What to Expect

The assessment is non-invasive, quick and does not use radiation or electrical current.

You stand on the Styku platform while it slowly rotates and an infrared camera captures your body shape. The scan itself takes approximately 30–35 seconds, and the software creates a 3D body model and calculates available measurements.

Your results can then be reviewed with you so you can better understand your baseline and, when repeat assessments are appropriate, see how your body is changing over time.

Understanding Your Progress

One of the most useful parts of 3D body scanning is the ability to compare assessments over time.

Rather than relying only on weight, repeat Styku scans can compare circumference measurements, body-composition estimates and changes in body shape. Styku's current software also supports scan-to-scan comparisons and visual progress tools.

This information can help you and your care team determine whether your current plan continues to match your goals.

An Important Note About Your Results

Body-composition values produced by 3D scanning are estimates generated through validated algorithms. They should be interpreted together with your health history, assessment findings, goals and other appropriate clinical information.

Your Styku assessment does not replace medical diagnosis, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging or other investigations when those are clinically indicated.
