Muscle Strengthening & Functional Strength Supporting muscle activation, strength and function as part of an individualized care plan.
Muscle strength plays an important role in movement, stability, recovery and maintaining independence throughout life.
At A Step Above Wellness Centre®, we look beyond appearance. Care begins by understanding your goals, health history, movement and functional needs.
Emsculpt NEO may be incorporated into an individualized plan to support targeted muscle activation and strengthening. Depending on your needs, care may also include assessment, guided movement, progressive strengthening and other recommended clinical care.

How It Works
Emsculpt NEO uses synchronized radiofrequency and high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to stimulate muscle contractions in the targeted treatment area.
At A Step Above Wellness Centre®, Emsculpt NEO may be used for two different purposes depending on the individual's goals, assessment findings and care plan.
Protocol 1 — Strength
Emsculpt NEO may be used to support targeted muscle activation and strengthening in selected muscle groups.
This may be appropriate for individuals working toward goals such as:
- Building or maintaining muscle strength
- Core strength and stability
- Healthy aging and muscle preservation
- Physical conditioning and performance
- Rebuilding strength following periods of reduced activity or deconditioning
Emsculpt NEO does not replace regular physical activity or progressive strengthening. When appropriate, treatment can complement an individual's movement and strength program.
Protocol 2 — Function
Emsculpt NEO may also be used when the goal is to support muscle activation, coordination and functional movement rather than strength alone.
Following assessment, treatment may target selected muscle groups when weakness, reduced activation or compensatory movement patterns may be relevant to the person's function.
Depending on individual needs, this may support goals related to:
- Core and pelvic stability
- Postural support
- Movement coordination
- Functional stability
- Return to activity
- Supporting progression into Guided Movement
- Maintaining functional strength and independence
When used for functional goals, Emsculpt NEO may be incorporated into a broader plan that includes assessment, education, Guided Movement, progressive strengthening, reassessment or physiotherapy collaboration when appropriate.
Individualized Use
Strength and function are related, but they are not the same goal.
Your assessment helps us determine why Emsculpt NEO is being considered, which muscle group is appropriate to target, and how treatment should fit into your overall plan.
Not every person requires additional services, and Emsculpt NEO may be provided independently when appropriate.
Strength Has a Purpose
Building and maintaining muscle can support everyday movement, stability, physical capacity and healthy aging. Your care plan may consider how different areas of the body work together rather than focusing only on one isolated muscle group. Depending on your goals and assessment findings, your plan may include targeted muscle activation, guided movement, progressive strengthening and reassessment.
From Treatment to Movement Technology may help activate muscle. Long-term functional strength also requires movement. Our goal is to help you progress toward using your strength in everyday life.
More Than a Technology
Emsculpt NEO is one treatment available at A Step Above Wellness Centre®. It is not the entire care plan.
Your recommended care may include:
- Comprehensive Clinical & Functional Assessment
- Posture and musculoskeletal assessment when appropriate
- Targeted muscle activation
- Guided movement
- Progressive strengthening
- Reassessment and progression
- Physiotherapy collaboration or referral when appropriate
Recommendations are individualized. Not every person requires every service.
